The Westwood girls basketball team posted their fourth consecutive victory Thursday night, topping Calumet 59-45 in West PAC action.
After a back-and-forth start to the game, Westwood emerged with a 16-10 lead after one quarter. The Patriots built an eight point lead in the final minute of the first half but Calumet scored a pair of baskets before quarter’s end to get within 29-25 at the break.
Westwood established a 45-34 lead after three quarters, led by as many as 18 in the fourth and Calumet could get no closer than within 12 down the stretch.
Natalie Prophet led Westwood with 18 points and ten rebounds while Tessa Leece added 15 points and ten rebounds. Karlie Patron and Madelyn Koski each finished with 12 points as the Patriots move to 6-1 overall. Westwood returns to action Tuesday with a roadtrip to Gladstone.
