The Westwood Patriot girls basketball team earned their seventh consecutive victory Monday night; never trailing as part of a 63-33 win over Iron Mountain.
Westwood scored the first seven points of the game but the Mountaineers got within two on two separate occasions. The Patriots ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run and led 15-7 after one. Westwood built a 28-17 lead at halftime when Emily Nelson tipped in a missed shot as time expired. The Pats held Iron Mountain to five points in the third quarter and used a 23-0 second half run to separate.
All nine Patriots got in the game and scored, paced by Madelyn Koski’s 16 points. Ellie Miller added ten and Tessa Leece finished with nine to go along with ten rebounds and six assists. Westwood is now 9-1 and will host Negaunee on Friday.
