The Iron Mountain boys basketball team started fast and raced past Westwood 80-47 in Mid Peninsula Conference action on Thursday.
Iron Mountain shot 65% from the floor in the opening quarter and raced out to a 32-11 lead after one. Westwood used a 7-0 run in the second frame to close the gap to 40-22 but would get no closer.
Zach Beckman tallied a career-high 17 points while Taylor Dellangelo added 15 to lead the Patriots. Iron Mountain’s duo of Marcus Johnson and Foster Wonders scored 21 and 20 respectively. Westwood is now 7-4 and hosts Marquette on Tuesday.
