The Westwood girls basketball team earned their ninth consecutive victory Friday night, topping rival Ishpeming 58-30 in Mid Peninsula Conference action.
The Hematites led 9-7 late in the first quarter but Westwood ripped off a 13-0 run and led by double digits for the rest of the evening.
Tessa Leece finished with a game-high 19 points while Karlie Patron added 12 to lead Westwood, who finished with just two team turnovers for the contest. The Patriots are now 11-1 and will host Houghton on Monday.
