NMU hockey coach Grant Potulny won WCHA Coach of the Year and Atte Tolvanen won Goaltender of the year.
In Potulny’s first season at the helm for the Wildcats, they finished the regular season 21-12-3, a 9-win improvement from last year. NMU also earned the 2 seed in the WCHA playoffs and advanced to the championship game, where they will take on Michigan Tech on Saturday night.
Tolvanen compiled a 23-9-1 record with a 2.25 goals against average and .906 save percentage.
