Westwood never trailed Wednesday night, routing Bark River-Harris 63-45 in a district semifinal contest played at Westwood High School.
The Patriots scored nine of the game’s first eleven points and led 16-7 after one quarter. Westwood stretched their lead to 29-14 at halftime and 48-25 after three quarters. The Broncos never got closer than 15 points down the stretch as they close their season with an 18-3 record.
Madelyn Koski led all scorers with 19 points while Tessa Leece finished with 16 and Natalie Prophet had 15 to lead three Patriots in double figures. Westwood is now 21-1 and visits Gwinn in the district championship game on Friday. The Modeltowners beat Ishpeming at the buzzer on Wednesday, topping the Hematites 51-49 in overtime. Westwood won both regular season meetings against Gwinn; 51-41 on January 22nd and 49-26 on February 21st.
