The Patriots routed Gogebic 47-0 Friday night, clinching a third consecutive MHSAA postseason berth; the first such streak in school history.
Westwood forced a three-and-out on Gogebic’s opening possession and two plays later Chad Pohlman took a handoff 81 yards to the endzone. The Patriot defense forced another stop on the following Miner possession and Taylor Dellangelo ripped off an 85-yard touchdown on the next play.
An Erik Anderson interception set up a Dellangelo touchdown run from five yards out and Westwood led 24-0 with 8:24 to play in the second quarter. The Patriots got rushing touchdowns from Pohlman (38 yards) and Anderson (10 yards) before the half was over and led 40-0 at the break. Pohlman returned the third quarter kickoff to the endzone and Michael Boissineau’s extra point capped the scoring.
Westwood improves to 6-2 and ends the regular season October 25th at home with Negaunee.
