The Westwood boys basketball team got back to winning ways Wednesday night, topping MPC rival Gwinn 46-37 at E.L. Miller Gymnasium.
The Modeltowners raced out to a 9-2 lead but went scoreless for a nine-minute stretch that allowed Westwood to close the first half on an 18-7 run.
The Patriots held a 32-24 lead after three quarters and led by as many as 11 points in the fourth. Gwinn rallied to cut the deficit to 38-33 with under ninety seconds to play but could get no closer.
Zach Carlson led all scorers with 17 points while Zach Beckman added nine. Westwood is now 4-1 and hosts Iron Mountain on Friday.
