The Westwood girls basketball team earned their sixth consecutive victory Friday night, topping Houghton 67-33 in West PAC action.
The Patriots scored the first seven points of the game and led 15-5 after one quarter. Westwood extended their advantage to 29-17 at halftime and led by double digits for the rest of the night.
Karlie Patron paced the Pats with 16 points while Madelyn Koski added 15 and six assists. Tessa Leece finished with 13 points, Natalie Prophet had 11 and Ellie Miller ten. Westwood is now 8-1 and hosts Iron Mountain on Monday.
Meanwhile the Westwood boys basketball team raced past rival Ishpeming 60-48 at Westwood High School.
The Patriots led 12-6 after one quarter, 28-16 at halftime and 45-28 at the end of three. Zach Carlson tallied a game-high 25 points, Taylor Dellangelo added 16 and Ty Alderton ten. Westwood improves to 6-2 and hosts Escanaba on Tuesday.
